Prime Minister Abe said in a New
Year Press Conference - Post War 70 Years Speech “I will Write It with Full
Wisdom”
Prime Minister Abe had a New Year
press conference on January 5th at
Ise City Mie-Ken, and he said on his post war 70 years speech, “I want to write
a speech draft with full wisdom on the reflection about the past war, the
footstep after the war as a peace country, and how Japan should contribute to
the world including Asia Pacific countries.”
Prime Minister emphasized, “Under
the flag of proactive pacifism, Japan will contribute to the world peace and
its stability. I want to convey the clear message thereof to the world.” On the
other hand, he said, “I will respect the position inherited by the previous
cabinets”, adding that he will also respect the speech made by Prime Minister
Murayama in 1995 acknowledging colonial occupations and invasions in the past.
The ordinary diet session which will
be held this month will focus on “Reform Implementation” in addition to
establishing security laws which may accept the collective self-defense right,
adding “I hope that as many people as possible will enjoy the fruit of
Abenomics which will be gained through our efforts of placing priority on
boosting economy”.
As to the regional revitalization,
he mentioned that he will present bills to the Diet to support development of
local specialties and sales networks, adding that he intends to appoint several
places by this Spring as to special areas for regional revitalization, which is
positioned as the second phase of the development of national strategic special
areas.
